DEATH OF AN INFANT

A son, Charles Warren McCormick, born to Mr. and Mrs. Elroy McCormick of 115 South Third Street, died two hours after birth in Pawating Hospital Monday afternoon.

Committal services will be conducted by the Rev. Earl J. Wickstrom, pastor of the First Baptist Church, at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Silverbrook Cemetery.

Hattie May Westerfield

Mrs. Hattie May Westerfield, 87, of 704 Wayne Street, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in her home following an illness of three years.

Mrs. Westerfield was born in Tazewell County, Ill., on Jan. 26, 1870, and came to this community 32 years ago from Dodge City, Kan. Her husband, Noah, died in 1926.

Surviving are: six daughters, Mrs. Clarence Drake, Mrs. Guy Mitchell, Mrs. Minnie Burdue, Mrs. Grace Williams, Mrs. Charles Buck and Mrs. Leslie Jones, all of Niles; a son, Otis Westerfield, serving with the Army in Germany; 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. , Saturday in the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Orlen Njus, pastor of the Bertrand Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Maude Bickford

Former Resident Dies

South Bend--Miss Maude Bickford of 729 California Avenue, South Bend, died Friday morning in her home. She was a former resident of Niles.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Clarence Palmer, Orlando, Fla., also a former Niles resident; and a niece, Mrs. Roland Longley, South Bend.

The body was taken to the Welsheimer Funeral Home, South Bend, where friends may call after [illegible].

Funeral services will be held in the Westminister Presbyterian Church in South Bend on Monday.  Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

INFANT RITES

Committal rites will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Silverbrook Cemetery for Ronald Lee Perkins, infant son of Mr.and Mrs. Forrest Perkins, rural route four, Niles, who died at 11:22 p.m. Sunday in Pawating Hospital where he was born at 9:17 p.m.
Surviving besides the parents are: a brother, Forrest Perkins, Jr., at home, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Perkins and Arthur Blackney, all of Kalamazoo.

Committal services for Scott Allen Johnson, son stillborn to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cottrell Johnson of 1364 Broadway at 11:55 p.m. Sunday at Pawating Hospital, were to be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Silverbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Stanley, pastor of Oak Manor Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Mrs. Paulina Siderits

Mrs. Paulina Siderits, 77, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday in the Beatty Memorial Hospital at Westville, Ind., where she had been a patient for the past two years.

Mrs. Siderits was born Feb. 24, 1880, in Kreisstrelno, Germany, and came to the United States in 1909.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Liszewski and Mrs. Josephine Radecki, both of South Bend; five sons, Henry Siderits, of Edwardsburg, Wilbur Siderits, of Niles, Frank Siderits, of South Bend, John Siderits, of Miami, Fla., and Edward Siderits, of Los Angeles, Calif., 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Murphy, pastor of the United Missionary Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home.
