Rose French, 85, of 508 Broadway, Niles, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital in South Bend after an illness of six weeks.
She was a former elementary school teacher in Niles and Buchanan. She was the widow of Henry F. French who died in 1966.
She was a member of Alpha Beta Epsilon Sorority, and of the Veterans of World War I Four Flags Auxiliary.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Buchanan and the Business and Professional Women of Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pifer-Smith Funeral Home in Niles. The Rev. Jo Taliaferro of the First Presbyterian Church of Niles will officiate.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Pifer-Smith Funeral Home.
