Elsie M. Bachman

Mrs. Elsie M. Bachman, 72, died at 2 p.m. Friday in Oak Grove Manor Nursing Home, State Line Road, where she had been a patient two years and 10 months. She had been ill several years.
Mrs. Bachman was born July 7, 1893 in St. Joseph. She came to Niles from the city in 1935. Her husband, Emil died in 1950.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Thompson of Chesterton, IN, and Mrs. Virginia Benke of Gardena, CA.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, the Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine, and the Phythian Sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Halbritter-Swem Funeral Home. The Rev. Arlan F. Schlundt, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
