Earl A. Bachman

NILES - Earl S. Bachman, 68, of 322 S. Third, was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:05 a.m. today in Pawating Hospital.
Mr. Bachman was born Feb. 3, 1900 in Niles, and lived here all his life. He married the former Alene C. Gregg Jan. 3, 1923 in Niles. Mr. Bachman was a retired yard conductor for the New York Central Railroad, a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, a life member of the St. Joseph Valley Lodge No. 4 F&AM, a life member of the Niles Elks Lodge No. 1322, life member of Post 26, Niles American Legion, Past Commander, Member of the Veterans of World War I and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Lodge No. 1013.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Earl A. of Niles, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Halbritter-Swem Funeral Home with the Rev. Arlan E. Schlundt, pastor of the St. John’s United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Halbritter-Swem Funeral Home after 7 tonight.
