Emil F. Bachman, aged 58, of 619 Sycamore street, died at 1 a.m. today in his residence after an illness of eight months.
Born in Niles on May 26, 1891, he lived his lifetime in Niles and was with the New York Central Railroad for 31 years, serving as a yard conductor at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, Elsa; four brothers, William and Charles of Buchanan, Herman, of Niles, and George of Ypsilanti; and two grandchildren, Don. E. Pierce and Dean Pierce, both of Niles.
Friends may call at the Kiger funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Harold Hohman at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
He was a member of the St. John’s church and of the Niles Elks lodge.
