MARY E. BURT, 90, TAKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. Mary Ellen Burt, 90, of 119 Forrest avenue, grandmother of City Clerk Burt Luth, died at 7 Tuesday night in the Quick Convalescent home after several years of illness.
Born in Susquehanna county Pennsylvania, July 25, 1854, Mrs. Burt came to Niles from Fond du Lac, Wis., in 1907. Her husband, Pierre Burt, whom she married in Manitowoc, Wis., died in 1927.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Laura Luth, Niles; Mrs. J. Hall, Manitowoc, Wis.; Mrs. Edna Atherton, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Bertha Searle, Spokane, Wash.; and Mrs. Martha Hayward, Fond du Lac, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Pifer funeral home after noon Thursday. Private services will be conducted there Saturday afternoon at 2 by the Rev. J. Kenneth Hoffmaster. Burial will be in the mausoleum in Silverbrook cemetery.
