Truman G. Warren, 82, 500 Laurel Drive, Niles, died Saturday at 2:20 p.m. in his home following a two-year battle with cancer.
The past president of the Niles Rotary Club and the Four Flags area Chamber of Commerce, he was co-owner of Holiday Inn in Plymouth, Ind. He formerly owned both the Four Flags Hotel and the Niles Holiday Inn. Warren was a graduate of Indiana University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He was a charter member of the Signal Point Club and was past president of the Niles Rotary Club.
He was born on Oct. 29, 1906, in Hartford City, Ind., and on Nov. 27, 1938, married Heleyn Retherford. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters Nan Miller of Grand Rapids and Diane Anderson of Saudi Arabia; a sister, Norrine Phelps of South Carolina; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Center Meeting House, Morris Drive, with Dr. Bruce R. Fiol of Marco Island Presbyterian Church, P.C.A., officiating. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
