Herman Hawker, 78, of 506 North Thirteenth street, died at 1 a.m. today in the Berrien County Hospital at Berrien Center. He had been ill two months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Kiger Funeral Home and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Kimble, South Bend, will officiate.
Hawker was born Sept. 5, 1874, at Silvercreek, N.Y., and came to Niles four years ago from Detroit. His wife, Jennie, died Jan. 9, 1952.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Craig Coates, Niles, and Mrs. Lee Flaugh, Erie, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. David Ramsay and Mrs. Frank Honert, both of Dunkirk, N.Y.; two brothers, William, Detroit,and Edward, Westfield, N.Y.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
