NILES--Neah M. Daus, 81, of 709 Cass St., died at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Pawating Hospital following a short illness.

She was born Sept. 22, 1896, in Union Mills, Ind., and has lived in the city since 1923, coming form Michigan City, Ind. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Mothers of World War II, the Golden Age Club, the Niles Senior Citizens and the Pride of Elkhart Train Sisters.

She married Edward Henry Daus on Nov. 26, 1913 in LaPorte, Ind. He died July 3, 1955.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond and Richard, both of Niles; five daughters, Mrs. Jack (Dottie) Jerue and Mrs. Earl (Jackie) Lowrance, both of Niles, Mrs. Joseph (Margie) Smith of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Louis (Betty) Gelakosky of Benzonia, Mich., and Mrs. Roy (Beverly) Sosebee of St. John's, Mich; a sister, Mrs. Marguarite Bowman of Michigan City; 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pifer Chapel of the Swem-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. K.V. Gateman officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
