Funeral services for Ruth L. Dash, 72, 1238 Ontario Road, Niles, are Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, by Pastor Jerry D. Bell of Twin City Baptist Church, Mishawaka, Ind., and the Rev. Walter Andrews of Twin Cities Baptist Church, Flint. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Mrs. Dash died Saturday, Nov. 22, at 3:45 a.m., at her home, following an extended illness.

She was born June 29, 1925, in Lorraine, Wis., and had lived in Niles since 1952, coming from Wisconsin.

On May 20, 1946, in Wisconsin, she married Chester Albert Dash Sr., who survives.

Mrs. Dash was a member of Twin City Baptist Church, Mishawaka, where she was active in the choir, teaching Sunday School, Junior Church, and the Jolly Sixties group. She enjoyed raising her twelve children and caring for their friends.

Survivors include six daughters, Sue Sink of Dowagiac, Avis Carter of Niles, Ruth Dash of Marshfield, Mo., Linda Dash of Niles, Patty Smith of Niles, and Pam Petersen of Niles; six sons, Larry Dash at home, Chester Dash Jr. of Mishawaka, Roger Dash of Niles, Albert Dash of Niles, Tim Dash of St. Joseph, and James Dash of Niles; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Marvin Benson of Woodstock, Ill., George Benson of Cumberland, Wis., and LaVerne Benson of Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Chester A. Dash III, and two brothers.

Friends may call today from 2 until 4 p.m., and 6 until 8 p.m. at Halbritter Funeral Home.
