Jay V. Griffee, 80, 943 S. 11th St., Niles, died Saturday at Pawating Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1906 in Mishawaka, Ind. He was a self-employed plasterer. In 1925, he married Mildred Teske who died in 1980.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane McQuaid of Marquette and Julane Griffee of Niles; two sons, David and Jami Joe of Niles; two brothers, Kenneth of Niles and Robert of South Bend, Ind.; four sisters, Carrie Gregory, Edna Archambeault and Peggy Vaughan of South Bend and Verna Welty of Niles; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-children[sic].
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Halbritter Funeral Home, Rev. Larry Whiteford officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service or the Michigan Heart Fund.
