Jonathan B. Gifford, 64, of 1415 N. 5th St., Niles, died at 8 p.m. Monday at Woodfield Manor.
He was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Pangburn, Ark. On Dec. 8, 1953, he married Carolyn Govert who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John B. Gifford of Niles; a brother, Monroe Gifford of Pangburn; and three sisters, Dorothy Weekly of Greenville, Ill., Mildred White of Breeze, Ill. and Allene Ramsey of Chester, Ill.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Pifer-Smith Funeral Home, with Rev. James Baker of Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
