No funeral services are planned for Clarence Richard Asmus, 81, of 111 Liberty St., Buchanan, who died Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Silverbrook Nursing Home in Niles.
Born Feb. 24, 1912, in Niles, he was a lifetime resident of the area. He had lived in Buchanan for five years, moving there from Niles.
On Sept. 7, 1946, in Niles, he married Clara Edith Peters, who survives.
Asmus retired after 41 years of service at Kawneer in Niles. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Niles.
Other survivors include a step-son, Jerry Schlundt of Dowagiac; a daughter, Claryce Neville of Buchanan; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
