NILES--Fred M. Nave, 56, of 1020 N. 17th st., was dead on arrival at Pawating Hospital at 5:03 a.m. today. He had been ill for some time.
Mr. Nave was born July 4, 1919, at Pontiac and came to Niles in 1950 from South Bend. A retired emloye of B&P Motors, he was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Niles Eagles Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marilyn Mattiford, whom he married Feb. 14, 1953; four daughters, Kathleen, Meryl, Sue Ellen and Karen, all at home; a sister, Mrs. Lewis Shiflea of Kalamazoo, and his stepmother Mrs. Sybil Nave of South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Halbritter Funeral Home. The Rev. Irvin Nussdorfer, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
