Billy Howard Davis, of Niles, was born Oct. 5, 1930, in Clay, White County, Ark., the son
Davis and Jannie Mable Anderson Davis. He passed away Nov. 9, 2011, in Niles.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on The Valley Forge during the Korean Conflict.
In 1956, he married Mildred E. Lintz in Niles. She preceded him in death in 1998. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Billy H. Davis and Timothy Davis; one grandson, Thomas Earl Davis, Jr.; and a brother, Perry Davis, in 1996.
Billy is survived by two sons, Johnny and Thomas (Lisa) Davis of Niles; two surviving grandchildren, Tiffany and Kyle; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin (Lynn) Davis of Mishawaka, Ind., and Owan Davis of Lebanon, Mo.; and one sister, Betty
Letcher of Buchanan. Billy is also survived by Treva Merrill, his very special friend and companion who cared for him during his illness.
He was a loving father who loved to play and watch sports with his sons and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan, with the Rev. Charles Johnston officiating.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
