Donald E. Klowetter, 58, 320 Roberts St., Niles, died 2:58 p.m. Friday, March 27, in Pawating Hospital, after an extended illness.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 116, and Niles Moose Lodge.
Klowetter had been self-employed in construction.
Born September 27, 1922, in South Bend, he lived his entire life in the area.
December 7, 1946, he was married in South Bend to Nora L. Davidson, who survives him.
Also surviving are a daughter, Dawn Klowetter, Niles, and a son, Rex Klowetter, Austin, Texas. Two brothers, Richard Klowetter, South Bend, and James Klowetter, Alabama, and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Kline, Mishawaka, and Mrs. Frank Gish, South Bend, also survive him.
Klowetter had two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 pm. Tuesday, March 31, at Halbritter Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred T. Smith, South Niles Community Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
