Mildred Elaine "Millie'' Davis, 59, of 1096 Almaugus Drive, died Wednesday Oct. 14, 1998,  in University of Chicago Hospitals, Chicago, after an illness.  She was born Feb. 4, 1939, Survivors include her husband, Billy H. Sr.; two sons, John H. of South Bend and Thomas E. Sr. of Niles; four sisters, Earlene M. Severs, Florence Joanis and Nancy Onken, all of Niles, and Deborah Trussell of Dowagiac; and four brothers, Jim and Danny Lintz, both of Niles, Earl Lintz of Buchanan and Scott Lintz of Mesquite, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Halbritter Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Davis, Maude E. (Fulkerth)

Maude E. Davis
Oct. 1, 1911-Aug. 16, 1986

Maude E. Davis, 74, 1621 Michigan St., Niles, died at 9:35 p.m. Saturday at Pawating Hospital following an extended illness.

She retired after 21 years of employment at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA.

Born Oct. 1, 1911 in Berrien Springs to William Henry and Bertha Mable (Graham) Fulkerth, she married Hal Davis who died Aug. 17, 1957.

Surviving are two sons, George and Charles Davis, both of Niles; a daughter, Barbara Williams of Decatur; a brother, Lynes T. Fulkerth of Niles; a sister, Pauline Smith of coos Bay, Ore; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in Halbritter Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold O. Schaap of Edwardsburg officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Davis, K.C. J.

K.C. J. Davis
Nov. 16, 1994-April 6, 1996

K.C. J. Davis, 11/2-year-old son of Kevin and Anne (McGill) Davis, of 2709 Sommers St., died after an illness at 10:32 a.m. Friday April 6, 1996,  in Lakeland Medical Center. He was born Nov. 16, 1994, in Niles. Surviving with his parents are a brother, Taylor W. at home; grandparents, Diane Davis of Niles; Charles Davis of Niles; William Lee and Wilma McGill Sr. of Niles; Gary P. and Kathy Mansfield of Niles; great-grandparents, Marietta Davis of Mishawaka; John and Eleanor McGill of Niles and John and Dorothy McLaughlin of Niles; and several aunts and uncles.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Halbritter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home.

Davis, Florence E.

- Services for Florence E. Davis, 91, of 1323 State Line Road, who died at 3:40 a.m. Friday Dec. 23, 1994,  in Silverbrook Manor after an illness, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Halbritter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Granger.

Mrs. Davis worked at Bendix Corp. in South Bend for 22 years. She also was a welder for 15 years at Studebaker Corp. and was among the first group of women employees there. She was born March 5, 1903, in Zanesville, Ohio, and lived in Niles since 1925, coming from Pittsburgh. On Nov. 18, 1944, in South Bend, she married Walter Leroy Davis. He died Sept. 19, 1971. Surviving are three stepdaughters, Myrle Gills of Dandrige, Tenn, Ella Butler of Collinswood, Tenn., and Edna Borton of LaPaz; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 42 great-great-grandchildren. A son, George Hochgesang, died July 16, 1980, and a stepdaughter, Bertha Wilson, preceded her in death. She was a member of the church.

 

Davis, Dorothy Jean

Dorothy Davis

Dorothy Jean Davis, 61, of 23419 Cloyd Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:49 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006,  in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, of natural causes.

She was born on October 27, 1944, in South Bend, to the late Mary and Joseph Frazier. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Frazier; and a sister, Joyce Hartung.

She was a lifetime resident of South Bend, and was an assembly worker for Power Gear, Mishawaka, Ind.

On May 25, 1985, in Mishawaka, she married Kenneth Edward Davis who survives. Also surviving are a son, Richard (Tina) Brewer of South Bend; two daughters, Dawn Brewer of Bremen, Ind., and Kristi Davis of South Bend; two stepsons, Edward (Julie) Davis of Niles, Mich., and Kenny (Anne) Davis of Hemet, Calif.; four stepdaughters, Diane Davis of South Bend, Sally (Gary) Hunt, Theresa (Greg) Light and Linda Pierson, all of Niles; and three sisters, MaryAnn O'Banion of South Bend, Nancy Chamber of Rochester, Ind., and Judy Krueper of Niles.; and by 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday April 19, in Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, Michigan, with Pastor Mike Ostrander of Niles Grace Brethren of Niles, Michigan, officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday April 18, in Hoven Funeral Home.

Davis, Donald Allen

Donald Davis
Aug. 24,  1928-Dec. 8, 2003

Donald Allen Davis, 75, passed away on Monday, Dec. 8,  2003, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.

He was born on Aug. 24, 1928, in Paris, Ill., to Ralph O. and Allene R. (Bosstick) Davis, who preceded him in death. He had lived in this area since 1941, coming from Paris, and later retired from the Bendix Corporation.

On July 10, 1947, in South Bend, he married Norma (Acton) Davis, who survives him. Donald is also survived by two sons, Russell Allen (Cathy) Davis Sr. of Niles, Mich., and Kenneth Joe Wieczorkowski of Niles; a daughter, Florence (Paul) Van Lew of Buchanan, Mich.; a brother, William (Phyllis) Davis of Edwardsburg, Mich.; a sister, Beverly (Perry) Stoops of Edwardsburg; and by two sisters-in-law, Shirley Ann (Tom) Campbell of South Bend and Laurene Davis of Edwardsburg. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Ralph Perry Davis.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, in the Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, and will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Reese of Hope United Methodist Church. Friends and family may call in the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. Interment will take place at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Charles Davis

NILES -- Charles "Chucky" Davis, 68, died Friday Sept. 8, 2006, in Heartland HealthCare Facility, Three Rivers, after an illness. He was born Oct. 11, 1937.  Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Silverbrook Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Brown Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
