Hannah Mae Lundy

Hannah Mae Lundy, 84, of Maple Lane, Niles, Michigan, died following a brief illness at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005, in West Woods of Niles.
Mrs. Lundy was born February 20, 1921, in Niles, Michigan, to John and Irene (Gillette) Young. She was a lifetime resident of Niles. She carried her master's degree in education from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Hannah retired after 25+ years of service with the Niles Community School Corporation. She also taught in the Galien School System.
Hannah attended the Church of Christ in Niles. She enjoyed traveling to destinations around the world and taking bus tours throughout the United States. Hannah was a member of the Michigan Association of Retired Personnel and was also a member of the Pokagon Seniors.
She is survived by her three sons, Richard T. Lundy of Niles, Leslie K. Lundy of Dowagiac, Michigan, and Mark A. Lundy of Niles; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Dawley of Petoskey, Michigan; and a brother, Herbert Young of Port Richey, Florida.
Mrs. Lundy was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Young, who died April 19, 2005.
The funeral service for Hannah Mae Lundy will be held in the Halbritter Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005, with the Mr. David Thompson from the Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
