VETERAN KAWNEER EX-EMPLOYE DIES
John H.A. Campbell, 77, Stricken After Long Illness

John Henry Allen Campbell, 77, a resident of Niles for 29 years and former personnel manager for the Kawneer company, died at 1:45 o’clock this morning in his home, 515 Pokagon street.

Mr. Campbell had been in ill health for the last year and a half, but the immediate cause of his death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Born in Kirtland, Ohio, July 10, 1860, Mr. Campbell was married to the Former Lillian Bratt in Chicago, Nov. 12 1896.

Came from Mishawaka

The family moved to Niles from Mishawaka in 1909 when Mr. Campbell entered the employe of the Kawneer company. He remained with the Kawneer until April of 1936.

J. Plym expressed deep regret at the passing of a former employe who remained in service at the Kawneer for more than a quarter century. He spoke of Mr. Campbell’s faithful discharge of his duties over a long period of time. His activity, terminated when ill health forced his retirement.

Active in Masonic work Mr. Campbell was a member of St. Joseph Valley lodge No. 4, F. & A.M., and was also affiliated with the Presbyterian church.

Funeral Thursday

Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. E.M. Bigelow, and one granddaughter, Miss Betty Bigelow, Niles; also three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Campbell home with the Rev. T. O. Lee officiating.  Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Edwin Dunn, George Alexander, Charles Geideman, Arnold Lauridsen, C.G. Wasson, and Malcolm Collins, Sr., will serve as pallbearers at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon for the funeral of John Henry Allen Campbell, 77.  The Rev. T. O. Lee will conduct services in the Campbell home, 515 Pokagon street, followed by burial in Silverbrook cemetery.  Mrs. Campbell died Tuesday morning in his home.

Committal services were conducted in the mausoleum in Silverbrook cemetery by St. Joseph Valley lodge No. $, F. & A.M. Mr. Campbell died Tuesday morning in his home.
