NILES—Roy H. Rice, 93, formerly of 1425 Terminal Rd., died at 5:55 p.m. Monday at Pawating Hospital after an extended illness.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church and the St. Joseph Valley Masonic Lodge, he was the retired own of Rice’s Dairy.
Mr. Rice was born Aug. 17, 1883 in Niles and lived here his lifetime. On Nov. 13, 1907 in Niles, he married Ethel A Stryker, who died Sept. 7, 1965.
Survivors include three sons, Robert of Harvey, Ill., Tom S. of Dayton, Ohio, and Harry of DeSota, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Jane) Houseman of Niles and Mrs. Jane (Frances) Shute of Bethesda, Md., a sister, Mrs. J. Walter Wood of Evanston, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Halbritter Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Morrow of the Buchanan Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Niles Community Library.
