George H. Shipperly, 77, 923 S.W. Cashew Circle, Barefoot Bay, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 5, at 3 p.m. at his home following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1911, in Bay City, He was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He retired from the Army in 1956 and worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was the owner of Ship's Place, Twin Lakes.
He married Jean DeBlain, Oct. 31, 1935, at Waukegan, Ill. She survives.
Other survivors are: two sons, William Shipperly of Niles, George Shipperly of Aurora, Ill.; two sisters, Dorothy Mayhew of Boynton Beach, Fla.; Florence Parsons of Bridgman; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3 p.m. at the Halbritter Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronald McCallum of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Stevensville, will conduct . . .[illegible] . . hours before the funeral.
Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
