CASSOPOLIS—Dolores M. Nethercutt, 75, formerly of Niles, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001 at the Cass County Medical Care facility, Cassopolis, following an extended illness.
She was born on August 14, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. to Robert J. Hughes and Mary Elizabeth (Grossel).
She has lived here since 1955, coming from Elkhart, Goshen and had lived in Arizona for many years.
She had attended Saint Mary's Catholic Church, but was a member of Saint Mark Catholic Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren.
On April 8, 1955, she married Robert L. Nethercutt, who died on Oct. 29, 1977.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hughes, who died march 3, 1990, and Walter Hughes, who died in 1955.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Greg) Poehlman of Cassopolis and Cynthia (Ted) Jackowiak of Niles, a brother Robert Hughes of Three Rivers, five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. On Monday, April 30, 2001 at Saint Mary Catholic church, Niles, with the Rev. Canon Marian M. Kencik officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
