Joseph Pagnotta, 65, of rural route two, Eau Claire, retired Niles grocer, died at 5:20 a.m. Today in the Cass County Hospital at Cassopolis following an extended illness of eight months.
Pagnotta was born April 24, 1889, in Italy and moved to Niles in 1938, where he operated a grocery store on `124 South State street from 1938 to 1948. He was a member of St. Mary's catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge. There are no survivors.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the pastor, the Rev. Cletus Rose, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8:15 a.m. Thursday in the Kiger Funeral Home here, where friends may call.
