Harlan R. Wingeart, 68, of 2442 Stevens Ave., Elkhart, Ind., died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at his home of natural causes.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Lodge No. 50, F&AM in Jackson.
Wingeart was a retired supervisor of Conrail.
Born in Niles, he lived here all of his life.
His wife, the former Evelyn M. Laudenslager, survives.
Others[sic] survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Lynne) Dunithan of Goshen, Ind.; two sons, Harmon R. Wingeart of Elkhart, Ind., and Daniel Wingeart of Crystal Falls; three sisters, Joyce Totten of Holt, Helen Young of Centerville, and Evelyn Gibbs of Niles; a brother, Jerald Wingeart of Parkton, Maryland; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wingeart of Niles; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are 4 p.m. (Mich. time) Saturday at Halbritter Funeral Home by Mrs. Merle Witham Miller, C.S.B., South Bend, Ind. Burial is at Silverook Cemetery, Niles.
Friends may call one hour prior to service at Halbritter Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to First Church of Christ-Scientist, Goshen, Ind.
