Billy R. Worvey, 85, of Beeson Street, Cassopolis, formerly of Niles, died at 6:10 p.m on Monday, Feb. 20, at his home, after a short illness.

Cremation will take place with a Memorial Service at 1 p.m .on Friday, Feb. 24, at Penn Friends Community Church, in Cassopolis, with the Rev. Bill Bruneau, Pastor of the Church, officiating.

Military honors will be performed by members of William E. Lozier V.F. W. Post No. 10704 and by Efton James American Legion Post No. 206, both of Cassopolis, There will be no visitation.

Burial will be at a later date in Silverbrook Cemetery, in Niles.

On Feb. 12, 1921, in Niles, he was born to Orville Worvey and Emma (Horner) Worvey and was a lifetime area resident.

On May 30, 1940, in Niles, he married the former Clara L. Williams, who survives.

After 37 years of  service,  he retired from National Standard, of Niles. He was a member of William E. Lozier V.F.W. Post No. 10704 and a member of Bitely-Brohman Sportsman Club, in Baldwin.

He attended Penn Friends Community Church, in Cassopolis.

Preceding him in death was his sister, Betty Schrumpf and his brother, Bobby Worvey.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, Clara, his surviving family includes his two daughters, Mary (Vern) PeGan, of Cassopolis and Cathy (Irving) VanLew, of Easley, S.C.; his son, William Worvey, of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and his sister, Beulah Sobieralski, of Niles.

Memorial contributions in his memory, may be made to Cass County Hospice.
