NILES--Herman Clemence Bath, 82, 104 Market St., died at 7 p.m. Friday at Pawating Hospital following an illness of two weeks.
He was a letter carrier at the Niles Post Office for many years before his retirement in 1959.
He was a member of the LaRue Messenger Post No. 26, American Legion, St. Joseph Valley Lodge No. 4, F.& A.M. and Knights Temple.
He was born March 12, 1894 at Shorton, England and had lived in the Niles area since 1908 coming from England.
On July 31, 1926, at South Bend, he married the former Olga Lydia Roebeck, who survives him.
Also surviving is one son, Charles F. Bath, of Greenville, N.C., one brother, Louis Bath of Spokane, Wash., two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Wedeven of Spokane, Wash. and Mrs. Chrissie Goddard of Dorset, England, and four grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Bath will beat[sic] 11 a.m. Monday at Trinty[sic] Episcopal Church, the Rev. Vincent Anderson, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Pifer Chapel of the Swem-Smith Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Trinty[sic] Epsicopal[sic] Church memorial fund.
