JOHN C. CUTHBERT DIES AT FARM HOME

Walton Road Resident for 27 Years Passes: Funeral in Niles Saturday.

John C. Cuthbert, 71, died Thursday night at his home on the Walton Road.He was born in Berrien Springs, Jan. 3, 1864 and in 1899 was married to Jemima Dressler who died Jan. 7, 1932.   He was the son of John and Phoebe Phillips Cuthbert.

Mr. Cuthbert had lived on the Walton Road for 27 years and had long been active in all community projects. He was a leading a member of the Grange and for several terms had been director of the school board.

Surviving are one daughter, Ruby M., who lives at home; one sister, Mrs. Mary E.. Hartline, Los Angeles; a brother, James H. Cuthbert, South Bend and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Price and Kiger funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery. The Rev. A.R. Kuehn will officiate. The body will be at the funeral home until the hour of the funeral.

CUTHBERT RITES TODAY

Services for John C. Cuthbert, who died Thursday at his home on the Walton road, were held this afternoon at 1:30 at the residence and at 2 o'clock at the Price and Kiger funeral home.  Friends of the family who acted as pallbearers were chris Steinbauer, Fred C. Franz, John Clark, Roy Walton, Fred Emmons and Ray Mell. The Rev. A.R. Kuehn officiated and burial was in Silverbrook cemetery.
