Mrs. Claire H. White, 80, of 510 North Fourth Street, died at 3:40 a.m. today in Pawating Hospital following an illness of about five years.
A lifetime resident of Niles, Mrs. White was born here on Aug. 10, 1876. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern Star, an honorary member of the Seepewa Reading Club, the Garden Club and a former member of the Library board.
Surviving are her husband, Charles F. White; a son, Richard H. White, of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret E. Ham, of South Bend; six grandchildren; a brother, George S. Hoppin, of Huntington Woods, Mich., and a sister, [illegible].
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. [illegible]. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kiger Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed.
