Mrs. Gertrude A. Weltzien, 73, of 618 Clay St., was pronounced dead on arrival at Pawating Hospital at 6:30 a.m. today. She had been ill several years.
Mrs. Weltzien was born here Sept. 21, 1891, and was a lifetime resident of the community. Her husband, Elmer, died June 5, 1963.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles Freyer, Niles; two sisters, Mrs. John Lockey, Buchanan, and Mrs. Frank Archambeault, South Bend; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Halbritter-Swem Funeral Home. The Rev. Leonard Putnam, pastor of her church, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
