Joseph Weist, 66, of 1432 Eagle Street, retired New York Central Railroad employe, died at 6 a.m. Sunday in the Lakeside Nursing Home at Berrien Springs following an illness of about one year.
Mr. Weist was born Oct. 2, 1871, in Scranton, Pa., and came to this community in 1918 from Ohio. Surviving are: five sons, Roy, Fred and Joseph Weist, Jr., all of Niles, Paul, of Finley, Ohio, and William, of Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Chancey Mathes, of South Bend, and Mrs. Floyd Greer, of Wilmington, Calif.; 31 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Pifer Funeal Home with the Rev. L.George Beacock, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
