MRS. M. THOMPSON IS TAKEN BY DEATH
Mother of Mrs. J.A. Contois Expires at 86, After Two Years' Illness
Mrs. Mary A. Thompson, a resident of Niles for the last 30 years, died at 6 o'clock this morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.A. Contois, 1320 Oak street.
One of Niles' oldest residents, Mrs. Thompson was 86 years old. She had been in ill health for the last three years suffering from complications resulting from a fractured hip. Her condition became serious two weeks ago.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Rutherford funeral home with the Rev. T.O. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
Born in Barry, Ontario, Can., Mrs. Thompson came to Niles from Chicago in 1908. Prior to her illness she had been an active member of the Methodist church.
Besides her daughter, at whose home she died, Mrs. Thompson leaves one other daughter, Mrs. H.C. Swiheart, Great Falls, Mont.; also a sister, Mrs. Carrie Doane, Berkeley, Calif. her husband, William, died a number of years ago.
