Fred Cook, 81, of 513 Sycamore St., died Tuesday, at 7 a.m. , in his home after he had became suddenly ill.
Mr. Cook, a retired National Standard employe since 1963, was born June 23, 1885, in Chicago, and came to Niles in 1942.
Survivors include: His wife, Ruth C.; two daughters, Mrs. A.L. Clark of Niles and Ruthana, who is home, and two sons, Robert R. Cook of Placifas, N.M., and John A. Cook, Mrs. Charles Dreckman and Mrs. Joseph Uridel, both of Chicago, and Mrs. Ralph W. Moran of Woodstock, Ill.
Funeral services will be at the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Theis, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating.
Burial will be at the Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m., today.

COOK RITES
Funeral services for Fred Cook, 81 of 513 Sycamore St., who died Tuesday, will be at 2 p.m., Friday in the Pifer Funeral Home.
The Rev. Allen Theis, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
Mothers of World War II, who wish to attend the funeral rites will meet Friday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
