Fred J. Davenport, 84, of Niles, died at 1:18 p.m .Saturday at Pawating Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 28, 1899, in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was an area resident most of his life and retired as security guard from Simplicity Pattern Co. here. He also was a World war II Army veteran. On Feb. 20, 1954, in South Bend, he married Mabel Kennedy, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Harrison of Silver Lake, Wis.; one niece; one nephew; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pifer-Smith Funeral Home, with Rev. Russell Ross of the First Church of Christ Christian officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
