MRS. LAMBERTON PASSES AWAY

DEATH CLAIMS WELL-KNOWN RESIDENT OF BARRON LAKE DISTRICT

 

Death removed a prominent pioneer and highly esteemed resident of this section this afternoon about 12:30 o'clock when Mrs. Anna Lamberton, wife of Alonzo Lambertson[sic] died at their home six miles east near Barron lake.  While Mrs Lamberton had been in ill health for more than a year, her last illness was of but a few days duration.

Mrs. Lamberton is survived by her husband and by two children.  The latter are Mrs. Arthur Moore who resides east of Niles, and Ambrose Laberton[sic], 1201 Oak street.  The grandchildren, Lucille and Ralph Moore, and Mrs. John Scamehorn, also survive.

During last April Mr. and Mrs. Lamberton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on the farm which has been their home for most of their married life.  The surviving husband is 81 years old.

The funeral plans have not been announced.

Funeral Services Saturday For Mrs. Lamberton

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Lamberton, wife of Alonzo Lamberton, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at their home near Barron lake. Burial will take place in Silver Brook cemetery.

Anna Dick was born October 12, 1846 in Niles, and lived on Howard street until she was eight years old when the family moved to what is now the Walton Dick home northeast of the city. On March 30, 1876, she was married to Alonzo Lamberton and they lived on the Sterner or John Korn Farms until 1889 when they moved to the farm where her death occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Besides her husband and two children, Mrs. Arthur Moore and Ambrose Lamberton, of Niles, Mrs. Lamberton is survived by two sisters and two brothers who are: Mrs. E.O. Brown, of Benton Harbor; Mrs. Ida Clinton, Hartford; Walton and J.W. Dick, Niles, and William Dick, of Piper, Ill.
