Fannie (Lambert) Haggerty
Sept. 9, 1845-March 25, 1927
Mrs. Fannie Haggerty, 81, 322 N. Third street, died Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock following a brief illness with a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Haggerty was born in Colchester, England, September 9, 1845. When she was a years old she was brought to the United States and for nine years lived in Ann Arbor, Mich. She came to Niles in 1855 and had since resided in Niles. She was married to Hampton Haggerty in 1868. He died five years ago. She is survived by one sister, Miss Mary J. Lambert, of Niles, and by several nieces and nephews. One of the nieces is Mrs. Eugene Meyers with whom she made her home.
The funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Rutherford Funeral Home. Rev. J.W. Sheehan, of Three Rivers, formerly pastor of the Methodist church in Niles of which Mrs. Haggerty was for many years a member, will officiate. Burial will take place in the family lot in Silver Brook cemetery.
During last December Mrs. Haggerty sustained a fall and broke a pelvic bone. She was an invalid for a number of weeks but eventually was able to walk about the house but about 10 days ago she fell again and sustained injuries which hastened her death. Mrs. Haggerty was widely known and highly esteemed in the community in which she had so long resided.
