Walter L. Quick

Walter L. Quick, Jr., 84, of 1314 Amherst, Niles, Mich., died following an extended illness at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 1999, in the Country Home Adult Foster Care Home, Niles.
He was born to Walter C. and Anna (Butz) Quick on Sept. 8, 1914, in Howard Township, Mich., and had lived in Niles all of his lifetime. Mr. Quick retired from the Kawneer Company in Niles after 43 years of service.
Mr. Quick is survived by two sons, Vernon and Robert Quick, both of Niles; three grandsons, Brad Quick of Madisonville, La., Don Quick of Pompano, Fla., and Craig Quick of Hillsdale, Mich.; a granddaughter, Robyn Quick of Pompano; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Skopec of Niles; and by a brother, Dale Quick of Salida, Colo.
Mr. Quick married Eileen M. Rosenberger on Feb. 22, 1936, in South Bend, Ind. Eileen Quick died on Aug. 16, 1972. Mr. Quick later married Lucille Vandenburg in July 1975 at Arden, Mich. Lucille Quick died on May 28, 1977. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Neoma Furst; and by a brother, Gordon Quick.
Funeral services for Walter L. Quick, Jr., will be at 11 a.m. today, April 20, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles, with the Reverend Dr. Ronald H. Wakeman of the First Presbyterian Church, Niles, officiating. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Halbritter Funeral Home.
