Elgy R. Quick

Elgy R. Quick, 73, of 1931 River Bluff, Niles, Mich., died of natural causes late Friday evening, July 23, 1999, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.
Mr. Quick retired in 1991 as a welder from Tyler Refrigeration. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1926, in Risco, Ark. On Oct. 25, 1949, in Pickett, Ark., he married the former Eva Joyce Williams, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Robin McKeel and Sheila Humphrey, both of Niles, and Patti McCready of Granger, Ind.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Stevens of McClure, Ill., and Pauline Huffstetter of Portageville, Mo.; and by five brothers, Uaris Quick of Anna, Ill., Bill Quick of Niles, Dee Quick of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Pete Quick of Hayti, Mo., and Dalton Quick of Portageville.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Pifer-SMITH Funeral Home, Niles, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
