Niles—Mrs. Goldie Clark, 74, of 2203 Bicknell, died at 7:35 p.m. Friday in the Foote Memorial Hospital of Jackson where she had been ill for the past three weeks.

Mrs. Clark was born March 23, 1894 in South Bend and had lived here since 1915, coming from South Bend. She was married to the late William Clark, who died Sept. 27, 1961.

She is survived by a son Howard of Jackson; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Low, Mrs. Robert Regenos and Mrs. Walter Lepel all of Niles and Capt. Rose Mary Clark serving with the Air Force in Sault Ste. Marie; A brother, Henry White of Kalamazoo, a sister, Mrs. Mabel Feaster of South Bend; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Church of Christ with the pastor, Mr. Jack F. VanArsdall, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

NILES—Funeral services for Todd Wickler, 11-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wickler of 36 N. State, were held at 2 p.m today in the Pifer Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev Ray Cunningham of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Silverbrook Cemetery. He died at 6:40 pm. Friday in Pawating Hospital.

Todd was born Jan. 15, 1968 in Niles.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Dennis and Tim and three sisters, Tammy, Roxann and Cindy all at home and grandparents: Mrs. and Mrs. Henry Wickler of Niles and Mrs. Jack Barker of Stevensville.

 

Webber, William H. 1874-1968

NILES—William H. Webber, 94, of 1707 Detroit Road, died at 10 a.m. Saturday in the K-Lee Nursing Home of Dowagiac where he had been ill for some time.

Mr. Webber was born Jan. 11, 1874 in South Bend and had lived in Niles all of his life. He married the late Flora Cranston March 28k, 1899 in Niles. Mrs. Webber died in 1942. Mr. Webber retired from Tyler Fixture Corp. in December of 1958.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marion Burnett of Niles; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Pifer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Trenery, pastor of the Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

NILES—Charles Todd Mitchell, 83, of 415 N. Second, died at 11:33 a.m. Saturday in Pawating Hospital after a one-week illness.

Mr. Mitchell was born May 10, 1885 in Niles, and had been a lifetime resident. He was a retired maintenance service man.

He is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Katherine Hollis and Mrs. Winifred sawyer of Detroit.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today in the Halbritter-Swem Funeral Home with the Rev. L. Lawrence of the Franklin A.M.E. Church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

NILES—David K. Jones, year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl V. Jones, of 767 Beebe Road, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Pawating Hospital.

He was born Dec. 10, 1967 in Orange, Calif. and had come to Niles two months ago.

He is survived by his parents; his grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Einar Jones, of Niles and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ekman of Santa Anna, Calif. and a sister, Scheryl Ann, at home.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Today at the Silverbrook Cemetery, with the Rev. Francis Timmons of the St. Marks Church officiating.

NILES—Mrs. Nettie M. Harlan, 80, of 17 S. 7th St., was found dead in her home Tuesday.

She was born Sept. 10 1888, in Rogersville, Tenn., and has been a resident of this area since 1937 coming form Benton Harbor. Mrs. Harlan's husband Herbert F., died Sept. 14, 1957.

Mrs. Harlan is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John DeKoek of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Fifer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Trenery, of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

NILES—Mr. Arthur E. Hall, 61, of 509 N. 14th St., former captain of the Niles Police Dept., died at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday in the Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He had been a patient in the hospital for one week.

Mr. Hall was born Aug. 28, 1907, in Mecosta County, Mich., and had been a resident of this area since 1920 coming from Jackson, Mich. He married the former Mildred Glossenger Aug. 16, 1930 in South Bend. Mr. Hall was a member of the St. Joseph Valley Lodge No. four F and AM., the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the Niles Safety Board.

He is survived by his widow, this mother, Mrs. Maude Hall of Niles; two sons, James of Bethesda, Md. and Larry of Niles; a brother, Lothaire Hall of Garden City, Mich.; a sister Mrs. Fern Helmick of Saline, Mich. and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Pifer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Trenery, of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
