Leonard A. Frizzell, 47, of 1386 Airport Rd., was dead on arrival at 8 p.m. Saturday at Pawating Hospital.

A steel construction worker for J.A. Jones Construction Co., Mr. Frizzell was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Manchester, Tenn., and had lived here for 30 years, coming from Manchester. On June 26, 1953, in Niles, he married the former Antoinette Cacya, who survives. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Iron Workers Union of Mishawaka.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Frizzell is survived by a son, Robert, at home; his mother, Mrs. Gertie Frizzell of Niles; two brothers, Everett and Lloyd, both of Kankakee, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Smith, Mrs. Jan Eaves and Mrs. Wanda Darling, all of Niles.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Pifer Funeral Home, with Stanley Davis of the Church of Christ of Michigan City, Ind. officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, where American Legion Post 26 will conduct a committal service.

J.W. Fowler, 68, Life Resident of Community, Dies

J. Wesley Fowler, 68, who had lived in or near Niles most of his life, died this morning in the hospital at Berrien Center. He had been ill six months.

Mr. Fowler was born Dec. 15, 1872, near Niles and was a painter by trade. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Saler, Kalamzoo, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Bair and Mrs. Sara Selfridge, Niels.

Friends may call at the Pifer funeral home where services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. J. Kenneth Hoffmaster officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Funeral services for J. Wesley Fowler, who died Saturday morning after a six months' illness, were conducted this afternoon at 2 in the Pifer funeral home with the Rev. J. Kenneth Hoffmaster officiating. Burial was in Silverbrook cemetery.

NILES – Louene Arlene Sacid II, 25-day-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sacid of South Bend, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday in Pawating Hospital, where she was born March 24.

In addition to her parents, the infant is survived by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sacid of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Louene Ahlgven of Saginaw, and her great-grandmother, Mrs. Ann Sacid of Willociwk, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Pifer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Violet Kish of the Niles Bethel Tabernacle officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Committal rites were conducted this afternoon at 2 at Silverbrook cemetery for Judy Elaine[sic] Firnstahl, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Firnstahl, 1429 Powers court. The child was stillborn Monday night at 6:30 in Pawating hospital.

GANO INFANT DIES

The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Dean Gano, 211 North Fourteenth street, died at birth this morning at Pawating hospital. Surviving besides the parents is a brother, John, at home.

Committal services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Silverbrook cemetery with the Rev. L. George Beacock officiating. Arrangements are being made by the Kiger funeral home.

Niles News in Brief: HEGERFELD RITES

Prayer services were conducted at 2 Wednesday afternoon in the Price and Kiger chapel for the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Hegerfeld, 725 North Fourth street. The Rev. Theodore Laesch, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, officiated. Burial was in Silverbrook cemetery. The infant was born Tuesday morning in Pawating Hospital.

Ames, Clara 1886-1960

Mrs. Clara Ames, 725 Maple St., died Sunday night at her home. She had been a Niles resident for the past 40 years, moving here in 1920 from Michigan City, Ind.

She was a member of the G.I.A. Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

She was born on April 9, 1886, in Michigan City. Her husband, Charles, died in 1933.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Ames of Edwardsburg, Robert Ames of Niles and Charles F. Ames, CPO, U.S. Navy, San Diego; a daughter, Mrs. Frederick VanDyke of Niles; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John P. MacLachlan, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
