Ernest Timm, 78, of 1720 North 11th Street, died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday in Pawating Hospital where he had been a patient since March 23. He had been in poor health for the past three years.
Mr. Timm, a retired tool and die maker, was born Feb. 26, 1880, in Niles and had lived in Lansing and Detroit prior to returning to the city 25 years ago to make his home.
Surviving are: his wife, Doris; a step-brother, George Wedel, of DeWitt, Mich., and two step-sisters, Mrs. Mollie Bogardus, of Vandercoog Lake, Mich., and Mrs. Zelaga Anderson, of Elkhart, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Kiger-Halbritter Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Meussling, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ (Evangelical and Reformed), of which he was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ida Nieb, 80, lifetime resident of this community and native of Berrien County, died at 7 a.m today in her home on 308 Woodruff street.
Mrs. Nieb was born Feb. 21 1878, in Berrien County. her husband, Daniel Nieb, preceded her in death . Surviving are: two sons, Harold Nieb, of Niles, and Lester Nieb, of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call beginning Tuesday evening at the Pifer Funeral Home here where arrangements are incomplete.

Nieb Rites Set
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Evangelical United Brethren Church here for Mrs. Ida Nieb, 80, lifetime resident of this community who died Monday morning in her home on 308 Woodruff Street. The pastor, the Rev. Gordon Everett, will officiate and burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home until noon Thursday.
Hattie Morehouse

Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Hattie Morehouse, 89, of Lansing,Ill., formerly of Niles, Wednesday afternoon in a convalescent home at Lansing following an extended period of illness.
Mrs. Morehouse was born Sept. 29, 1868, in Berrien County and had lived for a number of years in Illinois, moving here from Niles.
Surviving are a brother George Bowerman, of Niles; a sister, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death about 13 years ago.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon in Lansing, and burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery here.
John L. Maunder

John L. Maunder, 83, 0f 1844 South Third Street, died at 9:10 a.m today in the Quick Convalescent Home here where he had been a patient for the past seven weeks.
Mr. Maunder was born Oct. 23, 1874, in Elkhart, Ind., and had lived in the Niles community since the age of 2. Surviving are: several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ernest Liebetrau, Mrs. Kenneth Kloko and William and Richard Liebetrau, all of Niles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday from the Kiger-Halbritter Funeral Home with the Rev. John G. Carlton, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Estella J. Vetterly

Mrs. Estella J. Vetterly, 58, of 604 Wayne Street, died at 2:55 p.m., Monday in Buchanan Community Hospital following an illness of six months.
Mrs. Vetterly was born Sept. 30, 1899, in Michigan City, Ind., and came to Niles to make her home in 1921. She was married on Sept. [illegible] . .was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Railroad Trainmen and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving besides her husband are: a son, Leland E. Vetterly, Jr., of Niles, and Mrs. Richard Marsh, of Buchanan, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m Thursday from the [illegible] Rev. H. Allen Marrs, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery . Friends may call at the funeral home.

Mrs. Estella J. Vetterly, 58, of 604 Wayne Street, who died Monday afternoon in the Buchanan Community Hospital after an extended illness is also survived by another daughter, Mrs. James McConnell, of Niles. The daughter's name was inadvertently omitted from a previous announcement of the death.
Robert L. Robinson

Funeral services for Robert L. Robinson, 67, of 505 S. Lincoln Avenue, Niles, are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Halbritter Funeral Home of Niles by the Rev. John T. Charter of Grace United Methodist Church of Niles.
Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery i Niles.
Robinson died at 11 p.m. Sunday at home following a brief illness.
Robinson was born April 26, 1923 in Berrien Center and was a lifetime resident of Niles. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army, and was a retired employee of United Dairies.
On April 12, 1946, in Berrien Springs, he married Lila M. Holmes, who preceded him in death Oct. 7, 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy L. Robinson of Springsville, Ala.; and a sister, Leota Rodell of Eau Claire.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
Emma M. Fleck

Funeral services for Emma M. Fleck, 90, of 24054 N. Fifth st., Niles, are Thrusday at 11 a.m. at Michiana First Assembly of God by the Rev. Ted. F. Mitchell, pastor of the church.
Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
Mrs. Fleck died Monday at 1:50 a.m. at Pawating Hospital in Niles following an extended illness.
She was a member of Michiana First Assembly of God church.
Born Jan. 22, 1900 in Denham, Ind., she lived most of her life in the Niles area. On March 12, 1959, in Niles, she married Thomas C. Fleck, who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1979.
Survivors include a son, Alfred L. Chamberlain of Cassopolis; a stepdaughter, Norma Walters of New Buffalo; a step-son, Harry Fleck of Baroda; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halbritter Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
