Obituary of Sean Alan Green

Sean Alan Green, 36, of Niles, passed away at his home in Niles on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

He was born on June 11, 1986 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Robert A. and Michele L. (Proud) Green.

Sean had a great love for his country and enlisted in the U.S. Army serving twelve years prior to receiving his honorable discharge. Although Sean had a disability while serving his country, he continued his patriotism by serving in the U.S. Army Reserves in South Bend.

He married Athena “Tina” Casas at a ceremony in Niles on October 6, 2020. He enjoyed exotic pets including snakes and a leopard gecko most recently; he also made room for their two cats and will be missed by his dog, Blaze. Through the years Sean has had a great interest in motocross racing, camping, collecting guns, going to concerts, playing the drums and an avid Notre Dame fan. Sean had a brilliant mind and always absorbed any information he could concerning all things science and space. As a child, Sean was gifted to be able to take things apart, fix them and put them back together which carried over to his ability to do construction. He most recently had been employed at Michiana Recycling and Disposal, where he worked as a mechanic.

Sean was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Franklin Proud and his father, Robert A. Green.

He is survived by his wife, Athena “Tina” Green; his mother, Michele Green; his children, Jayden, Dacoda, Payton, Deagan and Parker Green; step-sons, Nehemiah and Elijah Antisdel; his siblings, Tyler (Jamie) Green, Jacob and Jace Milewski all of Niles; maternal grandmother, Lois Proud of Niles; paternal grandparents, Ron and Nancy Green of Shipshewana; aunts, Sharee (Brett) Wolff of Beecher, Illinois and Shelly Stabnik-Banke of Elkhart; an uncle, Michael Green of Elkhart along with several cousins and countless friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. followed by Full Military Honors at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation beginning at noon. Sean will be laid to rest privately at Silverbrook Cemetery.
