Lane, Denise Annette 1957-2021

Denise A. Lane, 63, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at her home. She was born in Niles, Michigan on December 1, 1957, to the late Andrew and Peggy (Thompson) Lane. Denise graduated from Brandywine High School in 1976. She went on to work as a machinist at a manufacturing company in Elkhart Indiana. Denise would best be described as a tough no-nonsense person. But deep down she had a unique sense of humor; she would often use water guns to wake her daughters up in the morning, or drive a little too fast on the icy roads, just to spin out and make the girls yell. She would often go to the girls’ school with her hair a mess, or minus a few foundation garments, and very boisterously call out their names. Denise enjoyed road trips, visits to the casino, and spending time with her family. Her family always came first with her, whether it was her daughters, grandchildren, or nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; Andrew Lane Jr., and her sister, Iris Clark. Denise is survived by her daughters, Rashida Outlaw of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Geneva Peterson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren; sister Nadine (Jay) Holt of Niles; best friend, Mary Flowers; along with several nieces and nephews.
