NILES—Ray Hershberger, 80, of 2824 Mason St., died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Pawating Hospital after an extended illness.
A member of the First Church of Christ Christian, the Four Flags Barracks of the Veterans of World War I and a retired machinist from the Bendix Corp., he was born Sept. 14, 1895 in Indiana and had lived here most of his lifetime.
On July 5, 1952 in Niles he married the former Gertrude S. Hague, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. May Alice Biggs of South Bend.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Pifer Chapel of the Swem-Smith Funeral Home with Joe R. Johnson of the First Church of Christ, Christian, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of Christ Christian Building fund.
