Charles C. Jacobs

Charles C. Jacobs, 63, residing on South Kenmore, South Bend, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2005, in his home.
He was a retired machinist from Manufacturing Technology Inc. Mr. Jacobs was born on February 28, 1941, in Mishawaka, IN, to Francis and Virginia (Smith) Jacobs, and lived in Michiana all of his life.
Mr. Jacobs is survived by his daughter, Cathleen Wannerton of South Bend; his son, Andrew (Holly) Jacobs of Woodbridge, VA; four grandchildren, Ryan Wannerton, Ashley Wannerton, Shannon Wannerton and Collin Jacobs; his father, Francis Jacobs of South Bend; and three sisters, Joan (Lynn) Gaylord of LaPorte, Sue (Bill) Lamb and Nancy (George) Varga, both of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Jacobs in April 2004; and by his brother, Dennis Dean Jacobs in 1986.
In 1961, in South Bend, he married Patricia Arthur, who preceded him in death. Then he married Donna Jacobs. They were divorced. He is survived by her children, Stefanie Stowe of Niles, MI, Cullen Cooke of South Bend and Damon Batz of Elkhart, IN.
A graduate of Johns Adams High School, Mr. Jacobs went on to serve his country and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was a member of American Legion Post 303, South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Kathy Miller, pastor of River Park United Methodist Church, South Bend, will officiate. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles, Michigan. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
