Niles News in Brief: DEATH OF MRS. BICKFORD

Mrs. Josephine Bickford, 70, a former resident of Niles for many years, died on Tuesday evening at her home, 717 Blaine avenue in South Bend. She had lived in South Bend for 17 years. Mrs. Bickford was born in Niles in 1850. She went to the Niles high schol[sic] on the first day that the Niles high school was opened. The Bickford family home for many years was at 405 N. Fifth street. Mrs. Bickford had been in ill health for seven years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clarence M. Palmer and Miss Maude Bickford and one granddaughter, Betty Lou, all of South Bend and one sister, Mrs. O.F. Osmer of Evanston, Ill. John Bickford, husband of the deceased, died 27 years ago. The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock. The body will be brought to Niles for burial in Silver Brook cemetery.

After funeral services in South Bend this afternoon at her home, 717 Blaine avenue, the body of Mrs. Josephine Bickford, widow of John C. Bickford, a former resident of Niles for many years was brought to Niles and buried in Silver brook cemetery. The Bickford family home was for many years at 405 N. Fifth street.
