Clinton A. Wieland, 75, 2269 N. Fifth St., Niles, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, Ind., following a brief illness.

He was a retired owner of Wieland Brothers Bowling and a retired employee of Niles Steel Tank. Wieland was a member of First Baptist Church of Niles and Niles American Legion Post 26, and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.

Wieland was born June 28, 1913, in Lansing, and lived in Niles since 1930, coming from Lansing.

On May 21, 1946, he married Ruth Osborn, who died Feb. 3, 1981. On July 9, 1982, in Niles, he married Mary E. (Parrott) Harrelson, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Pat Ryder of Niles, Dorcas Zavits of Niles and Nancy Davies of Reno, Nev.; a stepson, Owen Harrelson of Ozark, Ala.; a step-daughter, Joy Young of Rock Hill, S.C.; a brother, Durfee Wieland of Suttons Bay; three sisters, Gladys Engleberchy of Santa maria, Calif., June Murton of Lansing and Mary Ahaslingbring of Lansing; and five grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with Rev Ray Cunningham of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Halbritter Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or to the Arthritis Fund.
