NILES - Raymond E. Schroer, 52, of 3003 S. 11th St. Road, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at his home, after an extended illness.
A retired welder with the Walter Process Company, Aurora, Ill., Mr. Schroer as born July 11, 1917, in Harrington, Neb., and had lived here for two and one half years, coming from Aurora. He married the former Jean Nelson, who survives, on April 6, 1958, in Corinth, Miss. He was a World War II veteran and a member of American Legion Post 116 and D.A.V. of Dowagiac.
Other survivors include two stepdaughters, Mrs. Iris Sallee, and Mrs. Terry Fatter, both of Niles; two brothers, Charles Schroer, Blunt, S.D. and Herbert Schroer, Iowa, a sister, Mrs. Alice Ratjen, Yankton, S,D. and nine grandchildren.
