Niles News In Brief: FORMER RESIDENT DIES
Word was received here this morning of the death of Mrs. Mary Hayes, Vandalia, who is the mother of Harley Hayes. Mrs. Hayes had lived for 30 years near the electric light plant where her husband was electrician. Ten years ago they moved to Vandalia where she died this morning following a two days' illness with pneumonia. Mrs. Hayes was born April 3, 1858, in Fort Wayne, Ind., and moved to this vicinity about 40 years ago. Mrs. Fred Scotten, a daughter, and five grandchildren survive beside Mr. Hayes. The body will be at the Rutherford funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Niles News In Brief; HAYES FUNERAL FRIDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Hayes, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Scotten, Vandalia, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Rutherford-Phillips mortuary, with the Rev. T.O. Lee, of the First Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Niles News In Brief: HAYES RITES TODAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Hayes, former resident of Niles who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Scotten in Vandalia, were conducted this afternoon in the Rutherford-Phillips mortuary, the Rev. T.O. Lee officiating. The pallbearers were Lee Mahoney, Burgette Weller, Frank Teske, Fred Franz, Oscar Wyant and Bert Fisher. Burial was in Silverbrook cemetery.
