CARL ROGGE DIES OF HEART DISEASE
Retired Railroad Worker Had Resided here 51 Years; Funeral Monday
William Carl Rogge, who had lived in Niles for 51 years and was a retired employe of the Michigan Central railroad died Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in Pawating hospital. Mr. Rogge had been ill for the last two years of a heart ailment. His condition became serious Dec. 20. H was 71 years old, and his late residence was at 401 Day street.
He leaves three children, George C. Rogge, Gary, Ind.; Mrs. Milo Loomis, Niles and Mrs. Albert Wright, Hammond, Ind., also seven grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister live in Wisconsin, Otto and Ernest, in Appleton, Edward in Marionette, and Mrs. Louis Ahrens, in Clintonville.
Mr. Rogge was born in Germany, Nov. 2, 1864. He came to the United States when he was six years old and to Niles when he was 20. He worked for the Michigan Central railroad as car repairer until his retirement. He held a membership in the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen until his death.
He was married in Niles to Miss Ernestina Reum, who died Oct. 1, 1926. Later he was married to Mrs. Adeline Baker, who died a year ago.
The body was taken to the Rutherford-Phillips mortuary, where funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2;30 o'clock, the Rev. Theo Eisen officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted this afternon[sic] at 2:30 o'clock in the Rutherford-Phillips mortuary for William Carl Rogge, retired Michigan Central employe, who died Friday night. Pallbearers were O.M. Worvey, Edward Wesselhoft, George Knott, George Asmus, Charles Hahn and Charles Alm.
