Charles A. Bowen, 66, of 709 Hickory Street, died at 5:20 p.m. in Pawating hospital, after an illness of one week.
Surviving are a wife, Alene; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Mus (illegible text) Wilfred Wright, of Niles; four grandchildren; three step-children, Mrs. Eugene Rothgeb, of New Haven, Ind., Mrs. Collins Barnes, of Niles, and Robert Hand, of Niles; one step-grandchild, one brother, William Bowan, of Ithaca, Ind., and a sister, Mrs. Gordon Stanglemier of Danville, Ill.
Bowen was born in Ithaca, Ind., on Aug. 9, 1883, and came here from Michigan City, Ind., about25 years ago. He was a conductor on the railroad for 37 years.
Friends may call at the Pifer funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, and will be announced later.
He was a member of the Order of Railroad Conductors and the Eagles’ lodge here.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pifer’s funeral home. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
